| Rating Review: Be careful of this place, I bought a Subaru in January 2010 and am very pleased with the vehicle. The sales and service support are a completely different story, in fact they live up to every stereotype there is about car salespeople. They will not hesitate providing misleading information or omitting information just to make a sale. The sales staff blame the service department for "just telling you that to make money" and the service staff blame the sales staff for saying things that "we ask them not to tell the customers." Bottom line, they are LIARS!!!!! I may buy a another Subaru in the future, but I will NEVER buy it from Classic Cadillac Subaru. |

| Rating Review: The first mistake I made was letting the completely incompetent mechanics at Jones Nissan fumble around with the electrical system on my Quest after I clearly explained that the battery was discharging, sometimes within a matter of a couple of hours. I even told them to check the wiring harnesses as my thought was a short direct to chassis. Their finding... a loose battery cable. Apparently they don't teach their mechanics that open circuits don't discharge batteries. I told them to keep looking and they then eventually decided it was the break switch ($275). Two weeks later, car catches fire due to the short actually being in the cable assembly for the fan. I managed to get the fire out and the temperature of the engine back down long enough to limp the car back to Jones. Fan, fan housing and electrical harness ($900), not to mention that when I go to get the car back they announce that their "loaner" was actually a rental ($205, partially deferred after complaining). I also notice when I pick up the car that the rear power window ($295) no longer works (though it worked fine when I was venting the smoke from inside the car on my way there)! But wait, it gets worse! Two days after I get the car back it was especially cold morning when I notice that LOTS of fluid is now leaking from the bottom of my car. Seems one prerequisite for being a Jones mechanic is not to have passed 5th grade science. Fire=heat, metal expands when heated, contracts when cooled, doh. Limp car back to Jones where they swear that God has miracled the car to spontaneously leak oil, gas, break and transmission fluid from every joint! (estimated $2500). Now it's time to add insult to injury, bring on the Wilford Brimley and John Travolta look-alikes! After doing some research on what the best replacement car would be, and being "assured" by these shysters that they would "take my plight into consideration when pricing a new vehicle", I decide to give them a shot despite my misgivings that I was rewarding failure and looked at a 2007 Murano with 6200 miles on it. Not only did they come out in the end $7,000 dollars higher than either Sheehe or Carmax did for the same car with the same features and lower mileage (after they added a crapload of fees and lowered the value my now "ruined by their hands" car at $800), but the idiots said the per month finance price would be over $770. The last I heard from these con men they were trying to sell me a stripped down Santa Fe (a BIG step down from the car they were responsible for destroying in the first place!!!) As one local mechanic told me when I asked if he could check the car out and verify whether the fire had caused the leakage, Sure you're right, but you'll never get a mechanic to state that in open court because they might have to get a job there someday. Meanwhile, I did some research on the web and discovered several complaints, non-membership in the BBB, legal proceedings, etc. I decided it would be best to get my car off their lot as soon as possible before they got the idea to take it hostage¦ too late! "Things are always darkest just before they go pitch black." Kelly Robinson I now found out just how underhanded and dishonest some of their employees can be, as well as the few that could be trusted. Since my car was parked behind the Hundai dealership, I went there first to get my key. There I had an employee state that I owed him $146 dollars for 4 days of a rental car (Remember that â��loanerâ�� I mentioned before?). Despite having a bill stating that I had paid in full, this moron still refused to give me my car and told me to "Go ahead and get the police, I don't care!". Seeing that dealing with slime-ball like this wasn't going to get me anywhere, I stopped by the Nissan dealership next door where I dropped the car off originally to get a copy of the bill so I could go across the street to the State Police barracks and come back to have the moron arrested for grand theft auto. When I asked to have a copy printed out, the service attendant didn't understand as the bill CLEARLY stated it was paid in full. That's when things got interesting. The service person called the Nissan service manager at home. While she was on the phone, the moron from the Hundai dealership I was just at took control over the bill and we both watched in disbelief he began altering the bill right before our eyes!!! When the service person called him to see what the hell was going on, he yelled into the phone there was "No way in hell I was going to get my car!" (And I'm thinking, Inferiority Complex? Power Play? Just what the hell is this moron doing?) At this time the service manager from the Nissan dealership (still on the phone from home) said "I don't care what <blank> says, give him his keys. Send <blank> over there to get the keys and don't come back without them." Luckily, honest heads prevailed and I got my car off their lot as quickly as I could! So help me God, I will never, ever patronize any Jones establishment as long as I live. Would you want to deal with an outfit like this? Life is way too short for this nonsense. |

| Rating Review: I bought a car from them and they told me that because I was out of state and it was a NY vs. MA thing, they would have to collect the tax and register the car. I guess I was just used to dealerships taking care of it in a timely manner and figured it would be fine. I came to find from talking to a lawyer that it was blatant lie, and really, I should have known better than to believe that. I only had a week to drive around with my old reg and plates, MA doesn't do temps (it takes an 30min to transfer or even get new tags and reg). They PROMISED it would be done in time. I call all week to find out what the hell is going on....NO ONE calls back to tell me the status. Funny how they were all over me before I bought the car. Now I have a new car that I can't legally drive on the road... how the hell am I supposed to get to work. I took the chance to go with them, and got screwed. In short, their customer service and care for the customer post-purchase sucks. If you're saving a bunch of cash and don't ever have to see them again, fine. Oh, I also got a beat up copy of the DVD for the Nav system. A copy they made, which stopped working a few hours later. Thing was hacked, once again, I really should have checked it, but I was more concerned with inspecting everything else. I don't even care about having the original, as long as I had a working copy. I'm positive I'll never see that thing. |

| Rating Review: After a month of trying to get the right car and the right numbers together, I brought the agreed upon 5 grand cash plus the trade in (worth another 3 grand) on Deal Day. They tell me the rate has gone up on the loan, and for an extra 1500 it will put the payments back in the range we had discussed as my comfort zone. I said I could come up with another 1000 on such short notice, but not another 1500 (hell I was already putting down 8000) so they said if I gave another grand they would pull 500 of the price of the car (which they were overcharging me for anyways by about 3grand, usually I haggle but I'm alone w/ no family juggling a newborn and a four year old while hubby is in Afghanistan, so I pick my battles) I was told the payments would be one amount...but there was a glitch in having the signed papers back in time (the papers had to be FedExed to hubby overseas) so they gave me "dummy papers" to sign so they could take my money and I could take the car. On the "dummy papers" was a payment higher than what was agreed to. I asked my sales guy and Finance guy why and he said NOT TO WORRY, that whatever numbers where on those papers were from the old rate before I plopped down the extra money, and that the papers he sent hubby had the numbers we discussed. After I've had the car for a week I get the finished paperwork back and lo and behold it has the higher payment! I immediately drive to the dealership and try to figure out what happened...in the end they never took that last measly 500 off of the car price, just told me they would and didn't, and when I confronted the sales and finance guy that lied to me they said No, whatever I had signed on the dummy papers was what they sent to hubby (which of course isn't what they said they day I was signing the dummy papers) and then went on to bully me with much attitude saying that if I had a problem w/ the difference in payment then I can just give the car back, they can just re-sell it if I have a problem (after I've had it for a week and they've already got my trade in and money) So basically I plopped down extra money for no reason, got ripped off in price anyways and then lied to on top of it. I also noticed they never sent me a Customer Satisfaction survey or anything afterwards...WORST car buying experience YET and this is car #8 for me. |

| Rating Review: Nothing against the dealership itself, however the service center is a joke. The worst service I have ever received in my life. Drove 60 miles on a battery that the cell was supposable out; or had died between the inspection and the lights getting fixed. Left with lights that didn�t get fixed and had to go back, was treated rude and lied to twice. Once about the battery and once about the light which we paid to get fixed, that where not fixed the first time. They could have just told us that they killed the battery because a car does not run with a dead cell in the battery. (Have been told by 3 other mechanics) was there for an oil change and left 3 hours later. This kinds of ruins Subaru�s good name. Would hope that are letters to the company will make this issue better. Because we have told a lot of people to never go to Butte Cheverly Subaru because of this issue. |

The tactics employed by the salespeople at Colonial Auto Group exemplify why car salespeople have the horrible reputation they do. After applying for a used car loan on the Internet, I was contacted by a CONMAN at Colonial Subaru Volkswagen. After arriving at the dealership, I was informed by the CONMAN that if I was approved for a loan, the loan would only be good for a vehicle purchased at Colonial. I told the CONMAN I was looking for a specific year and model car that he did not have on the lot. After a little while, the CONMAN told me he could locate a car for me at Manheim, a massive wholesaler. A little more time passed, and the CONMAN showed me what appeared to be a Manheim listing, with thumbnail photos, for the year and model car I was looking for. I asked the CONMAN if I could see the photos on a computer screen. After a half hour, the CONMAN showed me four photos that he had the dealership e-mail him. As it turns out, I recognized one of the photos of this particular vehicle. It was a car for sale on a used car lot about 20 miles from Colonial, which I proved by matching up the VIN numbers. The car was listed at $15,995 on the used car lot. Colonial was trying to sell me the same car for $19,900!! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to any Colonial dealership. |

I had been in contact with James Sailors of Huffines and had signed documents related to price and conditions prior to our trip. Once we got there, James Sailors told us the terms of the deal had changed and we had to agree to a 3% point increase in the rate we were initially offered. He just assumed since we drove all that way, we would buy the car and that price...Sure we could have sued him for breach of contract, but we're just tying to buy a new car. |

| Rating Review: In January I purchased a Mitsubishi from this dealership. 29 days later on the freeway it broke down on me. I had it towed to Mitsubishi in Fort Collins and they had told me that the oil pump pulley had not been installed properly and had fell off, damaging the timing belt and bending 2 Valves. $2300 + worth of damage. It had been leaking oil after I bought it and wanted to bring it in to GO Subaru Arapahoe but they said that it was just residual oil from the oil change. After I called them and spoke to Mike Fitzpatrick (General Manager) he had said that if it happened the day I bought it, he wold have felt more obligated. So basically they sold me a car with loose/incorrectly installed parts, and told me that it was a reconditioned car. Now i can't get a hold of the manager, and my car has been broken down for a week. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER. Ed Carrol Mitsubishi said that due to the circumstances of the viechles condition, they wold have repaired it for me had I bought the car from them. Well now I wish I had. |

| Rating Review: Wow did I have the worst experience ever at LH Subaru!! I saw a Outback I liked on their website. I went and asked about it and the salesman said "its sold" never bothered to check or anything. Like he just knew there was no such car. I told the salesman up front what kind of car I was looking for, the price I was looking at, and the payment I was looking for. We did a test drive and then he wanted to get me to sign finance papers. I told him I'm not signing up for financing when he couldn't get me the price of the car. He went and had a pow wow with his "bosses" came back and offered me 6k more then I told him I was willing to pay. At this point I stood up to leave and had to argue with him to give me back my car keys for my car. (He had them when he was appraising my car) He said we could look at another Outback that was a little less. This was only 1.2k more then I was willing to pay for a car that was a year older. He argued for a hour with me, trying to change numbers by adding money to the trade in and taking it from the car but I'm no dumbie it was the same deal he was just trying to confuse me with math and it didnt work. Finally he gets his boss to start in on me that they are doing me a HUGE favor cause they are only making 3 dollars on the car at the price they are offering me. He offered me a 3 dollar discount on a set of floor mats. I told him I'm no idiot there is no way you making 3 dollars on the deal and your insulting me by even implying that's the truth. I DEMANDED my keys and left. Incidentally the VIN to the "good deal" Outback on the website isn't to that car anyway. My insurance man was pricing insurance for me on the Outback and that VIN belongs to another car. So if you see a great deal on their website on a Outback just know that that car is bait to get you into the lot so they can get their hooks into you. Tomorrow when the Attorney General's office is open I am going to file a complaint as the bait they post on their website is most likely illegal, I know its UNETHICAL!! |

| Rating Review: Summary: lied to make the sale, poor custumer support, I think short life for this car dealer with such methods. High pressure sales. On December 26th 2008, I visited Mike-Shaw Subaru's lot and I was greeted and assisted by two Mike Shaw employees that promised to price this car as COSTCO car purchase program. I liked the 2009 Subaru Outback 2.5XT limited that I test drove but mistakenly trusted Mike Shaw-Subaru for a respectable car dealer as we negotiated sales price and terms for this new car. One shady thing the salesmen requested that we signed a paper to show our interest into the car when he submitted a price to his boss I should had left. We basicaally purchased the car on a plain paper. Was my understanding that your car dealership is listed with the Better Business Burrow and as such I trusted your car dealership to be fair priced on new cars, maintenance service, and establish a good customer dealer relation especially during this hard economic time period. As I mention before my wife and I liked the 2009 Outback 2.5 XT limited with an MSRP of $34,811, and we settled on $32,950 purchase price, but I was deceived into believing that it was a fair price, and that the salesman would honor the COSTCO car purchase program price as he promised prior of the test drive. You see, when my daughter checked the price for this car at a different dealership one week later the price was $29,219 (she is also interested in the car). The dealer admitted that I overpaied but did not do anything to correct it not even offer a non cash refund. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP if you do not want be lied and overcharged They also offer an extended warranty for $2000, regular price at other dealer is $1,200. I did find that this pactice of promising COSTCO or SAMS discount and not applying are comon with this dealer. I can not speak for service quality but if you are lied from the start can you trust the service? is up to you . |

| Rating Review: I bought a 1999 Subaru Impreza from Shasta Nissan Subaru. On the way home, the check engine light came on. I took the car back immediately. They said, "It's your smog system. The air mass sensor is bad." I said, "It is illegal to sell a car in California with an inoperable smog system." They said, "It's your fault. We won't fix it." It drove home, and left the light on. A few weeks later, the clutch went out. According to my mechanic: "They knew the clutch was bad when they sold you the car." So, it cost me $1,100 to fix a clutch that would have cost them $300 to fix. Now, flash forward to 5-15-08. I am visiting my son in Redding. The car starts stumbling and the check engine light was flashing. I (stupidly) took my car to Shasta Nissan Subaru. Their diagnosis: "It needs a new catalytic converter, new valve cover gaskets, new coil, new spark plugs and new plug wires. Cost-- $1,600!!!". I called them back (they gave the message to my wife) and after some haggling, they said, "Well, you could only replace the coil, plugs and wires for $478.68". I had them replace just the coil, plugs and wires. I took the Subie to my local mechanic today. His verdict: "All you had was one bad spark plug." Cost: $3 for the plug and $85 for the labor, for a total of $88. The car did NOT need four new plugs, did NOT need a new coil, did NOT need four new plug wires. Conclusion: Never Never Never give any business to Shasta Nissan Subaru! |

| Rating Review: This has been the worst 5 months of my life because of Suburban Subaru of Vernon, CT. Here is an excerpt of what happened, but you can get the full story at: http://suckysuburbansubarusaga.blogspot.com/ Almost five months ago, I bought my Subaru Baja fromSuburban Subaru and have had the worst possible buying and owning experience ever. I have been failed by your staff in every possible way, ranging from the Sales Manager who accused me of being a thief, to the Service Staff that put unbalanced tires on my car to prove that my tires were not the problem. It started off as a simple purchase: I agreed to buy the car provided that the tailgate latch would be fixed and the vibration in the drivetrain would be eliminated. Thetransaction proved to be anything but simple. After the title for my trade-in was lost, an error was found on my bank check I used to pay for the vehicle. My bank made a mistake in drafting the check, but your finance department accepted the amount. When I was contacted weeks later about this, your Sales Manager accused me of trying to "get away without paying for the car." I'm an honest and reasonable person, and I don't appreciate being called a thief or con-man. This was annoying and insulting, but the real problems started from day one when I drove it home. Suburban Subaru agreed to fix two problems with this car prior to delivery, but when I took delivery, I quicklyfound out that you did not do the repairs as promised. The tailgate latch that stuck in the openposition was still inoperable after two attempts by the service department to fix it. This is not an ambiguous repair as it will either stick, or it will not stick. It can't have been fixed when it left the shop. I repaired it myself rather than take it in again. The vibration persisted past three visits before finding warped brake rotors. After taking it to a third party tire center, I had a report that there was a defect in the tires. Following this, your service department rotated and balanced them again, and I was offered new tires of my choosing to remedy the problem. Suburban Subaru never delivered on this promise. To further troubleshoot the problem, tires from another Baja were mounted on mine to show that it was not my tires that were the problem. However, the tires used for the test were also not balanced, rendering the test invalid. The test was never redone with good tires. Each time after being in for service, the car was returned to me as 'fixed'; not as needing more work; as actually being fixed.I was was then told that this is just the way Subarus drive. That being the case, I would have never bought the car in the first place, but this was impossible to tell during a test drive when the rotors are already warped. After hearing of my plight, I was contacted by your General Manager with an offer to trade me out of my Baja at a value close to what I paid for the car. After some searching for an acceptable car to trade me into, I found out that the 'close to what I paid' value was in fact the wholesale value. In doing this trade, I stood to lose over $4,000.00. As a person of principal and integrity, this solution was unacceptable to me. I should not lose that much money while you make money by selling my car twice. I have given Suburban Subaru every chance to do the right and ethical thing. I have been very patient and reasonable, but I have reached my limit now that my daughter has been born. My wife and I don't feel comfortable or safe in this car and, with the level of service I've gotten so far, we don't feel confident in the service history at Suburban. Having been through this nightmare and wasted my summer, I've decided to trade this Baja in elsewhere. I'm taking a giant financial hit but I will sleep better knowing that your dealership is not making money off it's unethical practices and my headaches. This trade-in process through you has been almost 2 months in the making, however, I found another dealership that has given me the same trade-in deal as you and was successful in finding me a new vehicle in less than a week. This has reaffirmed my stance of your trade-in deal was more about making money off me than making me happy, since the other dealership gave me the same deal as Suburban, but didn't owe me anything. If your dealership was successful in resolving these issues, I was all set to retract all the bad reviews I submitted to numerous websites. Instead I will be adding to them. I have also beenwriting a running blog of my experiences that, until now, I kept private. I was also prepared to scrap that blog if Suburban Subaru camethrough for me.
