| Rating Review: Waited 4 hours to get a vehicle that was not in the condition promised. Got ripped off on my trade-in. Tried to communicate with management about my problems with no responses. Was sold a warranty that basically covered nothing. Was treated like shit by the woman at the service counter when I tried to get my problems fixed. Now I am really upside down on a vehicle that is falling apart. I make sure to let everyone I talk to know about my experience with this dealership so that they won't get ripped off as I did. To top it off, they don't even want to try and resolve any of these complaints. I can't say I am surprised. |

| Rating Review: The salesman agreed to match a deal I already had worked out with another dealer and so I drove 50 miles to close the deal and then at the last minute the deal changed. Everything was great and then they just couldn't do the deal after I drove 45 minutes to get there. Don't believe it when they tell you they are interested in selling cars . dealership is small with very limited inventory. If you are interested in paying top dollar for your new Acura, this is the place for you! If you want to pay a fair price, look elsewhere. There's lot of competition as I found in this marketplace. |

| Rating Review: I know what to expect when you go thru "the process" of buying a car: the game, the negotiations, etc. Ultimately, we received a good deal for the car...but it was the after service that I was greatly displeased with from the finance dept to the feeling of being "belittled" and deceived. When we signed our forms for the car, we were offered a high APR in which we decided to go to a credit union to receive a better rate. Afterwards, we were supposed to bring back paperwork by a certain date to verify the loan. When I looked up the different rates later, I found a CUDL link (credit union direct lending) from a credit union site in which I found my exact car (checked car's VIN # and all) from that exact dealership that I had just purchased but with a much lower rate that ACURA could offer. So I called the finance dept. the next business day about this new discovery in which the lady hung up the phone abruptly after not answering the question and did not direct me in a direction where to find out more information. The next day, I made my way over to the credit union (BECU) and had them verify if the APR listed on the CUDL link to see if it was something they could take care of. They faxed their forms and a copy of the CUDL listed APR I printed to different people trying to verify the rate and found it was something that should have been dealt with by the dealer. So while I was at the credit union, I contacted a manager from Acura of Bellevue relaying my information in which he told me that what I had found online was wrong and that I should just go w/the credit union's rate. I was frustrated by the fact that I had found something viable thru the credit unions site linked to Acura of Bellevue�s branded site from CUDL, but I was even more exasperated by the fact no one was taking any responsibility to direct me towards a certain person who could verify/investigate my claim. I opted for the BECU's rate (which was much lower than the dealer's APR) and contacted the finance dept. to confirm what paperwork I should bring in. The lady without the raspy/hoarse voice picked up and spoke with a VERY demeaning tone when I asked her questions. She had extremely poor customer relations skills from the point when I talked to her on the phone and till the point I brought in the paperwork and check from BECU. I eventually walked over to the service/parts dept. to receive some paint for a chip on my car and found that Jay and Joe went above and beyond to deliver the best customer service I had ever received there. I was extremely impressed by their knowledge and care that I walked over to the concierge/reception desk to find if the dealership had a survey form and found that Lane was also helpful as well. To tell you the truth, I love my new car but I would NEVER recommend anyone that I even remotely cared about to buy a car from this dealership. I felt everyone (on the sales side) had beaten around the bush by avoiding addressing any of my concerns. As I researched the different rates for my auto loan, I also found that many other close friends had received superb customer service from the finance dept and managers at the Acura in Southcenter in which they guided and assisted valued customers thru the car buying process... |

| Rating Review: This dealer utilized bait and switch financing with us on a 2007 Acura MDX. We were given upcharges for it being "a good car" after the the deal was made. Took all day to give us the deal we wanted then changed it after we left the lot. The car broke down 1 block off the lot and we had to go straight back. They never returned our old leased vehicle to the bank as agreed and that ended up costing us money and time while we made the arrangements ourselves. We complained to Acura Corporate and after many conversations with them, we were left at the mercy of the dealer. We will NEVER buy another Honda product again as deceptive dealer practices are condoned by the parent company. BUYER BEWARE!! |

| Rating Review: At the end of May, my car lease came to an end and I wanted to purchase my car. I went to the dealership where I had originally leased my car and asked if they could assist with helping me keep my car. I was informed they would call me back - they didn�t. I called Acura customer service to see if they could assist and also heard �we�ll call you back� - they didn�t. I�ve owned nothing but Acuras for several years - I love them. The Tsx I have is my 8th. I have bought several from the dealership I normally go to and have referred several friends and colleagues to them. But this time, my endeavor to keep my car turned into a nightmare that frustrated me so much that I wrote an email...which I ended up as a blog post that I published at http://www.acuraserviceexcellence.com In wondering if there was anyone who could assist me with keeping my car, I sent an e-mail to every Acura dealership in the state of Maryland. I received some e-mails that had been send via autoresponders (as indicated by comments such as �thanks for your interest in your new _____ (space left empty as I had not indicated...)� and a few phone messages that were short and said �please call us�. I thought I would some good responses and my problem would be resolved. �Within a few hours of sending the e-mail I received e-mail responses from both Warren Paugh and Nuke Nushann at Norris Acura West in Ellicott City MD. While they didn�t make any promises at the time, they genuinely seemed that they wanted to help. So on a Saturday I went to see them and they worked with me (and my not-so-great credit) in a compassionate, professional manner that allowed me to keep my car. �I can�t even begin to tell you how impressed I was with their service, the communication and compassion they provided when it looked like I had to wait a little bit, and their superior financing capabilities. I was so blown away by everything I experienced that it felt like I had instantly inherited a family of 5 brothers that were looking out for their sister who needed to keep her car. Warren and Nuke listened to my experiences during the last year and helped me decide whether it was best to keep my car or look into leasing a new one. We all agreed that my car was worth keeping (can I tell ya? - it�s a great, great car) and they helped me with working on the different options I had for making that happen. Forms were filled out, paperwork was completed, if there was a wait it was short (and they were great at communicating delays if there was one). When it looked like a resolution had been found, Nuke and Warren both worked expeditiously to get everything done and worked with Taek on getting financing. Taek (who has worked in finance for several years) helped me understand the in�s and out�s of financing and the art of telling the story behind why you want a car vs. punching numbers into a computer and waiting to see if a loan has been approved. He has definitely mastered the art of the �human factor� in automotive financing which was necessary for me as �life� had gotten in the way for me and affected my credit deeply. Doug greeted me with his warm smile each time I came into Norris and talked to me about their goals as a dealership when it came to customer service - he seemed to be the voice for their mission statement which is written in large letters on the wall above the Norris sales floor which says: �Our mission is to provide such outstanding products and services that our customers will never want to purchase their vehicles anywhere else�. - Mission accomplished. Abu, another sales man who caught up with me between his other customers told me that he owned 3 Acuras - one of which was an old Acura Integra that he had purchased (I had owned two of them previously and they were a joy to drive). His unbounded youthful enthusiasm for the products he sells was nothing short of phenomenal and it made me think about the times I have met with sales people who don�t own (or drive) the products they sell. All of these gentlemen and the compassionate professionalism they demonstrated in helping me spoke to Warren�s leadership as the General Manager at Norris Acura West. If you are looking to purchase an Acura, I would recommend them highly! |

| Rating Review: Three months ago I bought a New Beatle from Ancira. At the time of purchase there was a defect with the over head liner. The sales person promised it would be corrected before I picked it up. It not only was not fixed they made it worse by using a dirty rag. I brought my "new" Beatle back to Ancira 6 more times before they decided to replace the overhead liner. When they did they cut my passenger side seat. I took it in 2 more time just for them to look at the seat and then fix it. Now I have an electrical problem and more issues. They do not stand by their word and brake more than they fix. | Rating Review: Be careful of this place, I bought a Subaru in January 2010 and am very pleased with the vehicle. The sales and service support are a completely different story, in fact they live up to every stereotype there is about car salespeople. They will not hesitate providing misleading information or omitting information just to make a sale. The sales staff blame the service department for "just telling you that to make money" and the service staff blame the sales staff for saying things that "we ask them not to tell the customers." Bottom line, they are LIARS!!!!! I may buy a another Subaru in the future, but I will NEVER buy it from Classic Cadillac Subaru. |

| Rating Review: Since purchased, I had always taken my vehicle to Atlanta Toyota for service and maintenance. One day there was a 2.5 hour wait for service and I reluctantly had to take it to another local Toyota dealer for service due to lack of time. When my wife took our Toyota back for its next service (her first time) she was told that we couldn't get the same deal we had always gotten because it has been so long since our last service there. She was belittled for even asking and was treated as if she was trying to get something for nothing when she was just trying to get the same service we had always received. It makes me wonder if they have something against women since I was never treated that way. Because of the way she was treated she refuses to go back. When we received their survey, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the way she was treated and the fact that we were being 'punished' for not being 'loyal'. After almost 2 months of emails and even copying their General Manager, I never received a phone call or satisfactory response and moved on to another dealer. Apparently Atlanta Toyota doesn't care about their customers enough to pick up the phone when there is an issue. I would stay far away from Atlanta Toyota. They are only interested in your $$$ and don't have any real concern for their customers when they have a problem |

| Rating Review: This dealership has the worst customer service of any CAR dealership I have been to thus far. I buy a new vehicle every few years, and have shopped around enough to know the difference between good customer service and bad... this is hands down the WORST I have ever seen. I was interested in purchasing a vehicle, spoke to the salesman, took it for a test drive, submitted all the paperwork and a deposit for the vehicle, and have gotten nothing but grief. When I viewed the vehicle the salesman gave me one interest rate and then when I was with the finance department he quoted another, mind you I have AAA credit, and am putting a substantial cash down payment on the vehicle so its not like there was an issue with them giving me a loan. I thought they were in the business of selling cars, most people work for their commission, and hound you day and night, with anything and everything they can do to win a sale, this dealership makes it seem like buying a car is a $40 item not a $40K item. Buying a car should be a pleasurable experience, and they should provide you with excellent customer service. Patience with a customer should not be something I need to pay extra for. If you have the choice I highly recommend that you go to any other dealer in the city or shop out of town - you will be happier in the long run. And they make it seem like you are a bother to them from the minute you walk through the door. SERIOUSLY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!! |

| Rating Review: I had a very good experience at Beaverton Toyota this past week and I want to share it with as many people as possible. The reason is, the car dealership industry gets a bad rap, and I want to tell people about when things go right for a change. The person I dealt with at Beaverton Toyota was Kyle Drost. I ver kind and efficient young man, Kyle really helped us make the best decissions and best deal possible. We were keenly interested in a Toyota Camry XLE V-6. They are in short supply right now, and it was very difficult to even find one that we are interested in, in terms of color and options. Kyle searched in earnest for us for several days, and over that period of time, he befriended my wige and I. When it looked as though all were lost, Kyle came up with an idea that worked out beautifully. He had us take a look at a Toyota Avalon instead of an Toyota Camry XLE V-6. The Avalon is Toyota's larger flagship car. Kyle found out that was a great purchase for June and I! We did have to add leather to the Avalon, but it wound up being cheaper than the Camry we were interested in and it's a larger and more luxurious vehicle! The key here is that everyone at Beaverton Toyota listened to us! They really tried to meet our needs, and when it was hard to do, they produced an option that worked out better than what we were looking for! I want to give my strongest reccomendation for Beaverton Toyota here in the greater Portland Oregon area! I could not be happier! |

I knew exactly what I wanted, but was afraid I was going to have to wait for it to be ordered or something. I was kind of in a hurry to buy, since my old car was on it�s way to car heaven �. So I needed a new one fast! When I walked in to Beaverton Toyota, they had the minivan that I wanted right there on the lot. I didn�t have to wait to get what I wanted. I was able to go for a test drive right away and then it was a done deal. As far as the price negotiation....there were no hidden fees or other nightmares....they were true to their word and explained things to me very clearly before we finished the deal. The sales person we used was so helpful to me and made me feel like I was a priority to him. | Rating Review: On 9/22/2002 we purchased a new Kia Sedona van from Boniface-Hiers. On 5/8/03 we purchased their "Full Circle" 10 year extended warrantee covering corrosion of upper body metal and undercarriage. I phoned them with a rust claim, visited 3 times at their request for inspection the warrantee stated I did not need, and wrote them July 14 with a preliminary estimate from my body shop for $1836.55 for a minimal repair. Scott Rodes and Randy Hennis made excuses in contradiction of the written warrantee contract. And they repeatedly failed to respond until I called Neil Huhta, the general manager. Huhta immediately said my claim was not valid because I had failed to report the rust quickly enough, though no such requirement exists in my warrantee contract. Boniface-Hiers still refuses to honor their warrantee. Now they want to refund what I paid for the warrantee instead of honoring it. After we filed a complaint of fraud with the State of Florida, they offered to pay half of the at least $1836.55 they owe us. They lie. They delay. They fail to respond. The state told us they are now being investigated. |

After test driving an Accord at Burne Honda, I e-mailed the Sales Manager and offered him my business if he could meet a lower offer which I had received. The Sales Manager did not reply to my e-mail. Several days later, I e-mailed again to indicate I was still in the market. At that point, the Internet Sales Rep e-mailed to confirm that they could meet the monthly payment I had asked for. I called the Internet Sales Rep; he again confirmed the price. I picked out a specific car, set up an appointment, and made personal arrangements to come down and close the deal. Within an hour, I received an e-mail from the Internet Sales Rep claiming that there had been a �change in the programs.� When I called, he mentioned nothing about programs, but instead claimed that he had accidently included a previous customer�s trade-in when calculating my monthly payment. His inconsistent excuses, along with his unsolicited assurance that this was not a �bait and switch,� only confirmed what would be obvious to any reasonable person�it was exactly that. I then e-mailed the Sales Manager and both owners, on four separate occasions, and asked that they honor the original quote which had been documented in e-mail and confirmed over the phone. I did not receive a single reply to any of these e-mails. I�m disappointed at the way I was treated by this dealership, and I�d recommend against doing business with them�not only because they resorted to the dishonesty of bait and switch tactics�but because they would not honor even a written quote. |

| Rating Review: Staff Btyan: Nice young salesman. Got to say very little Adam: Sales manager. Did most of the talking. Jim: Designated closer. Lied outright to my wife and I to get the deal. I went to the dealer to look for a specific Jeep that I wanted. I went in with the paperwork for an employee discount and had a car for a trade in that was appraised at other dealerships for $9000 or greater (the pay-off was $8500). After looking around I gave the salesman(Bryan) my paperwork for the discount and explained that I needed it right back because it had personal information that I had written on the back. The salesman brought back his "manager"(Adam) with the offer. I looked at the sheet and explained that I dont have to pay for the destination fee with my EP discount. He said that the destination fee wasnt added. I pointed out the destination fee on the sheet that was $795. He said just to "ignore" that. Over the next few hours I was subjected to a variety of deals. During this time I asked for my paper (with personal info) back no less that 4 times. The "manager" kept misplacng my paper as a ploy to keep me from leaving. Also, The car keys to the car I drove in with always seemed to be missing also. When I finally stood up and demanded my paper back for the 5th time the "sales manager"(Jim) came over and told me I hit the lottery ticket. He stated that he found a buyer for my trade in and would give $13000 for my trade in. With the owed amount of my trade in being $8500, that would be a $4500 credit in my favor when buying the new car. Also, he told me with the $13000 he was giving me for my trade in, it would bring the vehicle payment to where I wanted it. I let myself get more excited than I should have and took the deal. After looking over the paperwork after signing the papers for the vehicle, I noticed that the "sales manager" lied and that I wasnt given $13,000 for the trade in, he only extended that payments to 84 months with an interest rate of 8.8%. (I have a credit rating of 788). I was already so excited about getting the new Jeep that I just kept my mouth shut and left the place. However, after leaving the dealership and thinking about how the manager (later found out was really a designated closer) lied outright to me to get the sale, I just had to come on the forum and warn others about this dealership. When I bought this NEW vehicle I said I wanted the wheels upgraded from the cheesy 16" ones to some nice ones with 18" rims (like the Sahara) along with a hitch and step bar put on the vehicle. Well, after I came back to the dealership to arrange a time for me to get the wheels,bar, and hitch installed they informed me that I was only getting 4 wheels upgraded and not the 16" spare tire. What?????????? I bought a BRAND NEW vehicle and UPGRADED the wheel package and it didnt include the spare!!! Now the spare time that I have on this NEW vehicle doesnt even match the other tires in size! What kind of dealership pulls a dirty trick like this on a client? When you upgrade the wheels on a BRAND NEW package it dang well should include the spare tire that is mounted on the back of the vehicle!!! Now they want me to pay extra if I want to buy a spare tire that is the same size as the tires on my vehicle!!! Note 1: When I asked someone else in the dealership what title Jim held, he told me that Jim was a designated "closer." (not the sales manager that he introduced himself as) Note 2: The floor salesman Bryan was a young kid and very helpful. However, after the test drive he didnt get a chance to speak again because he turned me over to Adam Note 3: My next step will be to contact the BBB and Chamber of Commerce. Then I will seek out other customers who feel that tey were either cheated or lied to by the staff. Here is what made me mad: 1. The sales manager lied about how much I was getting for my trade-in 2. With a credit rating of 788, I was given financing with 8.8% interest 3. Held me hostage by "misplacing" my personal paperwork(with private info in it). 4. Held me hostage by "misplacing" the keys to the car I drove there in 5. Upgraded my 16" tires to 18" but said (after the deal) that my spare tire was included. Then tried to sell be a spare tire to match the other tires on this BRAND NEW vehicle! Avoid this dealership unless you are a law enforcement officer there for a sting operation to bust them. |

| Rating Review: On 8/7/09, during the cash for clunkers program, I talked to Toni Grasso at Coccia ford. I told her that I was interested in purchasing a 2010 ford escape. I also asked her if the vehicle had to be running because I wasn’t sure if my 96 explorer would make it too many more miles and she told me that as long as it drove on the lot it qualified for the rebate. She told me that there were none on the lot but she did have one coming in she showed me the ‘dealer order receipt’ for an escape that was coming in. I asked her the price and she told me that the sticker price was $29,540. I told her that I could not afford that she said that she would write up a ‘work sheet’ for me with all the rebates and my down payment and see if it would be something that I could afford. The price she quoted me was $11,311.50 I told her that I had to think about it. I few days later I called her and told her that it sounded good to me and she set up an appointment for 8/21/09 at 3:00 pm that was the last day for the cash for clunkers program. I showed up for the escape at 3:00 and she showed it to me and went over all the bells and whistles then took me to another lady to fill out the paperwork. That lady handed me the papers to sign and said that the total, with extended warranty that wasn’t included in the price that I was quoted , was $20.740.01 when I told her that it wasn’t what I was quoted she called the sales person who said that she made a “little†mistake. Being that I didn’t think that my explorer would make it another mile and that is was the last day and final hours for the cash for clunkers program I signed the papers. She, Ms. Grasso, knew that I was hesitant with the sticker price and she also knew that my explorer wouldn’t make it much longer and I don’t think that her ‘little mistake’ was a mistake that’s why she set my appointment to pick up the escape for the last day almost the last hour of the c4c program. I talked to Terry Joyce, sales manager, and he told me that “sometimes we make mistakes but it all worked out in the end†|

| Rating Review: Went to Cocoa Hyundai and purchased a new Hyundai Accent. I was looking for something fuel efficient that wouldn't break the bank. I tried several Honda and Toyota dealers but they refused to deal. Cocoa Hyundais sales people worked as a team to answer all of my questions, each seemed to have specialized in different areas of the vehicle and it was refreshing to see so much detail. Everyone was very friendly, and with a little negotiation I got a great deal. One thing that impressed me was that the couple a few seats away in the showroom were yelling at their sales person and treating him very poorly. Most places, the sales person would have yelled back, instead he was nothing but courteous. I understand negotiations can be time consuming (Mine weren't they were very upfront and worked with me) but if it was my store I would have thrown that couple out. I did see them go into the business office as I was about to leave in my new car so I guess they got the deal they wanted. As I said though very laid back, nice friendly people. The store is older but has a good selection of cars, and offers free refreshments. Very pleasant place to buy a car. Highly recommended, A+++! |

| Rating Review: Please DO NOT come to this dealership! -Sales are nice and knowlegable but... -Even if we lowered our expectations for car dealership, the fiancial department is totally DISHONEST! -We got discounts and deals that do not exist! We brought in special rates from the Toyota manufacturer and were denied (later on we found that the deals that we brought in are still valid) -We were told that there are discounts in warranty and maintence. The discounts do not exist and we didn't find out until we found that the finance person has already worked the full amount into our loan -Concerns were raised and complaints were filed. Customer service department was not helpful (except tranferring your phone to the agent who we questioned his dishonesty) and gives you the impression that you are just another complaining customer. The complaining process was not effective and it was not handled professionally. -We are VERY disappointed and recommended every one of our friends not to visit this dealership |

If you visit this dealership ask for Bob, he is their senior sales manager and he is a gentleman of quality and character. Once you buy from him he actually treats you like family. After not having been in the dealership for several years, he remembered me and that I was going to law school soon and which vehicle I bought from him. The man is outstanding. The owner is equally friendly and congenial and they have been some of the best folks to work with. Even when something isn't on the lot they will go out and try to find what it is that you need at an auction for a reasonable price. |

| Rating Review: I wasted a significant amount of time with McDavid Honda of Frisco trying to get an answer and help on why the service department treated my family different from other customers who purchased the 2005 Odyssey Touring from them. They told us nothing about how we could be reimbursed from Michelin because the PAX run-flat tire system prematurely wears out (we managed to get a whopping 25,000 miles out of our tires, which I'm told by both Honda and Michelin is rare). I am extremely disappointed in the dealerships ineptitude at servicing its customers, and this really comes as a shock to me considering the company's reputation and our current economic climate. I will take my money to a different Honda dealer for my future needs. Thanks for nothing Derek Johnson (McDavid Honda of Frisco's Service Manager). |

| Rating Review: RAV4 Base 4x4 4Cyl with (QV)ExtraValuePackage + (TH)3rd Row Sears + (CF)Carpet Floor Referred by a friend who was shopping EastCoast at the time, EC gave us an internet quote of 23, 900$ & insisted TWICE that if we came in, we'd get a better quote. So with a good starting quote and the incentive of a better one on top of friendly referal, we rented a car, and drove the family from NY to NJ: Mommy Daddy w/ a 3yr old & 4yr old. Sure enough, when we get there, everyone seems very friendly. In fact for the most part throughout the entire experience, nobody we dealt w. got nasty, which is a pretty big thumbs up for them on that part. But that certainly doesn't mean they didn't try your usual tricks of the trade, they just do it in a calmer tone and a smile on their face. Their attitude and tone DEFINITELY dimmed considerably after we signed the Buyers Order WorkSheet. So I informed them of our internet quote, & Rolando (salesguy) comes back & agrees we can have it at 23.9K. But we reminded them that we were told we'd get a BETTER quote if we came in, so he went away, came back & again.. 23.9K & says it's a REALLY good price already, stating the internet quote is usually just a teaser to get ppl in, they usually don't honor eQuotes. So we insisted we're here today for a BETTER one & he "jokingly" said "so if I drop 5$ off, will that be a better quote?" & I chuckle along and remind him I'm looking for something reasonable here. He leaves & comes back dropping only 50$. So I asked for something closer to 23.5$. He says he'll throw in 1yr free maintenance @ every 5000/mi. I asked him to show me his invoice price on the car & he replies that knowing the invoice price doesn't matter (& never showed it either). I'm frustrated they're barely budging and said if they agree to 23.7$ (midrange betw MSRP & Invoice) then & I'm sold.He comes back w 28K but only 1 oil change. Yes, I'm a pretty bad bargainer, probably why I hate it and almost never do it, I usually just walk out when I'm not happy w. the 1st price I hear. He then whips out a referal postcard that gives 100$ each to the referal & the referer asking us to tell our friends to buy from EC also. Rolando also mentions he works ONLY off CustomerSatisfactionIndex (CSI) and does NOT make commission (which is probably a lie). So I mentioned my friend actually referred me but he hasnt bought the car yet, if we can redeem the referal promo. Rolando runs off for the umpteenth time to ask. Returns with a NO, he has to have already purchased. So Rolando brings up a great idea, I could reverse referral my friend & it'd be the same. GREAT IDEA!! I'm SOLD!! 23.8K -100$ referal bonus = 23.7K ... we begin the Buyers Order Worksheet. I casually text my friend notifying him of the bonus only to find out he already closed on the deal w Sales-Larry TWO days ago. So I backtrack while Mommy goes over the forms, asking for the referal bonus since he DID buy the car already. Rolando-Off...Rolando-Returns, NO, I MUST have his referal card. Mind you, this is a VERY simplistic postcard w/ no T&Cs nor offer codes on it, nothing, just a plain postcard with one sentence simply stating the 100$ each offer and "Rolando" scribbled in sharpie across the bottom, he has a ton of these (untagged) in his drawer. So I pleaded, it's a simple card, just fill out my friend's name and we'll call it a day. He refuses, says "the guys" in the back won't allow it, also said 100$ comes out of Larry's pocket & he won't do it. I remind him this is a LEGITIMATE referal & the only reason I contacted EC was b/c he mentioned it, and only came in b/c they offerd better quote in person. Things start getting tense over this 100$(x2) referal promo, and while Mommy is on the phone w Insurance, I'm still back & forth w/ Rolando. At the same time, he's trying to keep the paperwork moving w/ mommy while he argues w me. Rolando insist I STILL have my 100$ as long as I still give it to someone, and ofcourse I said NO, I don't kno anybody else whos anywhere near the market for a car..and to convince them to come to EC (especially after they BARELY budged on the quote)??.. i get on the phone w my friend about the referal and turns out he NEVER even got a referal card!! I bring this up and he calls my friend a LIER insisting EVERYONE ALWAYS gets a referal card. NOW, I'm being questioned about the legitimacy of the referal, saying EC MUST have the referal card to kno it's a real referal. So obviously, I remind them I have no idea who Larry is, yet I was able to mention him..and ofcrouse they respond "theres a lot of Larrys". He comes back & forth talking w/ "his guys" and I'm on the phone w. my friend about the referal. Rolando then asks me what car was bought and what name, so I gave it and they looked him up. Rolando comes back "He didn't even pick up his car yet!! THAT's why he didn't get his referal card!" (now mind you, they are now ADMITTING he didn't get a referal card...ALSO, mind you, I'm not even in the F&I office yet, but I have a referal card in hand). They're all aggrivated that I won't budge, accusing me of renegotiating, while I remind them that the 100$ was factored in to my decision to buy. At some point they agreed to honor the referal bonus saying my friend will get his 100$ when he comes in to pick up his car (on their word).. and I got 100$ off 23.9K so it's settled. Can you imagine that? they justified my bargain price with NOW substituting it with the referal promo. so I had to REPEAT ..AGAIN (probably at LEAST the 5th time by now) that my decision to buy was INCLUSIVE of this 100$ referal bonus. Much of this is probably out of order because they just kept coming back with SOOOO many excuses just for $100 that they would have otherwise given out easily if they had simply given the postcard to my friend who wouldve have SURELY given it to me. He goes on to tell me I can give him MY card, and we'll both redeem when he picks up his car. Ofcourse with nothing officially in writing, they can conveniently forget or deny us with some other nonsense made up "rule" AFTER I drive off the LOT. So I work it out w my friend that I'd leave today empty handed and come back with him when he picks up his car to ensure he gets his referal bonus, and I get my 100$ also. This gets them all nervous so "the guys" behind the desk calls me over and lectures me on bickering over so little and being unfair to them (which in perspective, while it's 100$ to me, it's probably less than 15$ in commission to them), and how they'v given me such a great deal and saying I'm accusing them of making empty promises (which I didn't, merely stating that with no official documented promise of $100, anything goes.). So after his little lecture (i guess this is what you have to put up with being in your mid 20s, everyone thinking you're an idiot pushover punk), he said he'll do me another "favor" and he'll put it down in writing that upon pickup of my friend's car, he will be honored 100$ referal bonus and me my 100$ bonus as well and this will be noted at the end of the Paperwork that will be signed in the F&I office. Funny how this "favor" of his is exactly what I've been asking for over the past hour. But ofcourse I don't get my written promise right away, it'll be noted later on which allows them the flexibility of conveniently "forgetting" or have more time to come up w. another excuse while they keep me moving closer to buying this car. OFF into the F&I room: we signed a few blank forms (which were pretty harmless, for now), and we get to the arbitration contract. I refused to sign in favor of Arbitration and tossing my rights to sue (as recommended by many carbuying guides) and was told I HAVE to, it's required by Toyota. I insist it's not necessary so the F&I accuses me of being "difficult" and went to talk to someone about the arbitration. He comes back and tells me again, I HAVE TO sign it otherwise we can't go thru with the purchase. so I reluctantly agreed so we can move on. then we stumble upon signature for VIN Windows Etching and I refused knowing it's a notorious optional addon. He casually tells us it's already included in the price of our car, I don't have to pay any extra for it. what he REALLY meant was they had already charged the added 175$ on TOP on my 23.8K$ on my Buyers Worksheet carefully labelled as "THEFT DETERRENT" for 175$ and I couldn't believe I had overlooked that. But it was so carefully hidden, even the 175$charge was typed in under another value that was "XXXXX" out so my eyes musTV thought whatever charge was originally there was waived. I had to reword my question 4 times before I could get him to specifically say I was charged for it. YET STILL, he insisted it's required, and everyone gets charged for it and he can't charge everyone else for it and not me. I asked him to point out to me where the charge was and he directed my attention to the Buyers Worksheet where I clearly point out to HIM that it DOES indeed indicate "(OPTIONAL)". He goes back out saying he needs to talk to someone about it again and finally comes back with Rolando my original Salesguy and this time both of them confronted me and said windows etching is a must and if I don't want to pay for windows etching, then there's nothing they can do, and I can't buy the car. At this point, this is the third time they have told me I MUST or I CANT buy the car, and I'm tired of it. Either they think they're calling my bluff or they're genuinely tired of dealing with me (which I kno was quite some frustration for such little things, but however, they were all little things that they tried to force me into and refused to back off when I said no).. so after 6+hrs with my girlfriend and 2 toddlers, I called it quits in the F&I room. If I'm already having in F&I over windows etching, I don't want to kno what else they'll try once we get down to financing and warranty and everything else. Seems they were trying to take advantage of knowing we're 1st time buyers, young couple w kids, expecting us to be ignorant. seriously, with a 22.7 invoice on the car, they would only budge 100$ below their opening quote of 23.9K. THEN, they'll hassle me to deny me a legitimate 100$ bonus on a loosely constructed referal program with countless excuses, some contradicting the others. And Finally, on top of that, they'll force feed me added services that I don't want and call me difficult for refusing it. and then outright REFUSING to sell me the car if I don't agree to buy their extra services!! What's Next??!! I HAVE to take their "Paint Protection"?? I HAVE to take the extended warranty?? I HAVE to spend 1000$ worth of Maintenance care per year?!?! They didn't get nasty, Offensively Loud, or curse me out.. but that didn't stop them from being insulting, condescending, and outright LIED about many things to try and cheat me. I had placed a total 5000$ downpayment on the RAV4 in their suggested "good faith" that I'm serious about purchasing before continued negotiation on the price. (BAD IDEA!!) This isn't just $200 that most people would put down.. this is FIVE THOUSAND$, I'm SERIOUS about buying that day. SO I gave them $2000 in Money Order (VERY BAD IDEA- ALways in Credit Card!!) and $3000 in Credit Card since they refused to accept more than that via CC. But they still insisted on $1100 ABOVE invoice (quite outrageous btw, an avg deal is about 500$ above invoice), with a nondocumented promise of $100 referal refund at signing. After unsuccessfully trying to forcefeed me added charges by lieing that they're neccessary, they refused to sell me the car because I refused the extra charges. So I ask for my $5000 back. They refused that also. They said refunds are only processed on Fridays (It was Monday). I asked about my 2000$ Money Order.. and they said "it's already in the safe, we'll issue a check refund on Friday". Fine, I left, very upset they wasted 6 hrs of my time. Come the FIRST Friday, I called EastCoast to make sure my refund will be processed. They tell me I have to Drive back into the dealership for a magnetic card swipe for the refund (they didn't mention this Monday), and the $2000 check will go in the mail that day. I'm outraged, they want me to rent a car to drive across state lines paying 20$ tolls each way for a refund they owe me. I call my CC company and my CC confirms that a Magnetic swipe is NOT necessary for this refund, all they have to do is refund it from their system. EastCoast is LYING about physical CreditCard Presence. I filed for CC Chargeback of $3000 and CreditCardCompany says they will refrain from a forced chargeback until 30days after the initial charge, they will give the merchant 30days to refund themselves. I wait until the following Wednesday and still NO CHECK in the mail. From NJ to NY, if they dropped the mail on Friday, I should have it by Saturday, LATEST would be Monday. **when I had called eastcoast, the CSR transfer me to Orlando, the Sales Manager that I dealt with that day. My fiance actually spoke to him since the car was to be under her name and he went off on a rant trashtalking about me of how obnoxious and unreasonable, and difficult I was in negotiating the price. Professional? I think not, it was hard to keep him on topic about the refund. Come 2nd Friday, I called EASTCOAST again for my refund. Again, we were forced to speak to Orlando, which we really didn't want to since in every instance of interaction w/ him, he seems to have no interest in cooperating. He again, reaffirms that we MUST come to locatin for the CreditCard refund, and he'll followup on the Check refund and call us back and send us a fax confirmation. He never did. Next week rolls around.. NO CHECK IN THE MAIL. 30Days later, we have not received our $3000 CreditCard Refund willingly by EastCoast, so ChaseBank pulls the funds back forcefully. EastCoast can still appeal the chargeback and recharge us again requiring us to re-appeal, but fortunately, they didn't.. but I don't see why they would since all the paperwork we initially sent in was pretty open&shut clear what happened. 50+days later, we still have NO CHECK REFUND for $2000 from eastcoast. I filed reports with the BBB.org, FTC, Attorney Generals of NY and NJ, and filed a complaint with Toyota Headquarters, and researching Small Claims Court against EastCoast. Unfortunately Toyota HQ can only note the complaint and alert the dealership, but cannot authoritively instruct them to refund. ToyotaHQ instructs me to contact EastCoast again and ask to speak specifically to the CustomerRelationsSpecialist. So I called eastcoast and ask for CustomerRelationsSpecialist and was transferred accordingly. Spoke with Mark Catalano on a Monday, he said he'd research the matter and return my call the next day. NextDay Tuesday, Mark calls us back and says he will issue a check refund for $2000 that same day, if I could come in for pickup. I said no to pickup so he agreed to mail it. I asked for a fax confirmation and he said OK. I never recvd the Fax confirmation. Wednesday =NO CHECK. Thursday =NO CHECK. Friday ("refund day") and it's his day off, I leave a msg. Friday Night, I find my $2000 check from EastCoast, FINALLY. The check was printed on Tuesday, and obviously mailed BEFORE Friday if It's in my mailbox by Friday. REFUNDS ARE ONLY PROCESSED ON FRIDAYS? I call BULLS8lT!! Now if Customer Service didn't INSIST on having us speak with Orlando & Rolando, this wouldve been resolved a LONG time ago. Thank You Mark Catalano, but no thank you East Coast Toyota. I will never buy from them ever unless they can beat my best offer by 300$ OTD with no bs from the salesman nor the F&I, and I'm not putting more than $100 downpayment. If you have a smooth experience, Great. If you run into the slightest problem with them, take your money and run! |
