Comment: Not a good experience - no outright deception, but full use of all the usual car dealer tricks - shifting numbers, focus on monthly payment, high-pressure sales pitch, and ridiculously over-inflated add-ons during the financing process, etc...
My mother-in-law stopped in to look at a new Chevy one afternoon, somehow she walked out with a used Chevy SUV that same day. Now the majority of that responsibility is on her clearly - she should know better - but it does bother me when salespeople pressure nice older people into buying cars they don't want and clearly can't afford (a 7yr loan to a senior citizen - come on!), at prices well above Kelly Blue Book value (more than $1 Thousand over), and including unnecessary, overpriced last minute "signing" add-ons with huge profit margins. There is really no legal recourse in NH - she signed the papers (no cooling off period). But I will say that when I went in to talk with the sales manager the next day, to see if they could please at least offer her any free service incentives etc... to thank her for being a customer (given the great deal they got), they were extremely rude, confrontational, and actually proud of the high profit margin they made on the transaction. So proud that they showed me their "profit" sheet - which detailed the gain on the car sale, the huge mark-up on GAP insurance ($550 to the dealer!), and on the loan. Needless to say I got nothing but a good reminder of why some used car dealers have such bad reputations. But information is a little bit of power - the GAP insurance is cancellable for 30 days with a full refund, and given that mark-up, clearly available directly elsewhere at a much more reasonable cost - so at least we can take that small step - get that $500 back out of their pockets.
Certainly can't recommend this dealership - watch out for all the usual car dealer pitfalls.
